Molokai to Oahu paddle for Autisum
Molokai to Oahu paddle for Autisum
Story
Hi everyone.
Zac Haynes and Luke Hallam will be competing in the Molokai to Oahu paddleboard race in 2014 for the Autism Association of Western Australia. We are going to raise money that will help the association provide valuable recourses to he community including the early intervention unit which is the first of its kind in Western Australia. The association is leading the way with new techniques and technology's to help the children and families with autism in Western Australia.
the Molokai to Oahu paddleboard race is in two divisions. With one being prone paddling and the other being SUP(stand up paddleboarding) Zac and Luke will be in a two man team for the prone division. The race is 52km(in a straight line, so more like 60km) from the island of Molokai to Oahu. To put this is perspective, it is 3 times the distance of the rottnest swim. It is known as the hardest paddle race in the world with open ocean swells to 30ft, tide and wind not to mention the sharks and a ocean depth of over 2300ft standing in our way. We will be training hard to prepare ourselves for the race and the motivation that we are raising money for a fantastic cause will be driving us!
Any donation is better than none, and please give generously to help his fantastic association!
