Story

Following the devastating earthquake in 25 April - NEPAL NEEDS OUR HELP.

The Ottawa World Expeditions office aims to raise $5000 as a team.

Pledge your support because we've each committed to the following:

> Doug has a 26 year old beard that he will shave off.

> Laura is taking the ultimate physical challenge - Warrior Dash on 18 July - www.warriordash.com

> Annika is attempting to run her fastest 10kms ever!

> Nathalie, Meritxell, Keri, Caro, Allie, Amy and Donna -- well we're keen hikers (surprise, surprise!), so we'll spend Sunday May 31 hiking 28kms along a section of the Trans Canada Trail through Gatineau Park.

> And Lisa, she's 26 weeks pregnant and so we figure we'll let her off the hook!

The World Expeditions Foundation does not levy any administration fee.

World Expeditions Foundation Ltd (Nepal Earthquake Appeal)

The catastrophic earthquake that struck Nepal on 25 April, and the subsequent earthquake on 12 May, resulted in a massive loss of life and destroyed much property. In the initial weeks following the earthquakes, the funds raised through this appeal, were directed to purchasing and delivering food packages, tarpaulins, corrugated galvanised sheets and blankets to mountain communities in need. Many of these communities are home to World Expeditions porters. As Nepal moved into the reconstruction phase, funds were directed to the efforts to re-establish schools in the mountains, namely: 1. Construction of four classrooms at Manju Shree Primary School in the Solukhumbu 2. Constructon of the main office building at Kshamawatu Secondary School in the Dolakha district 3. Construction of three classrooms at Shree Setibhume Secondary School in the Rasuwa district We are currently raising funds to build three classrooms for Shree Manjushree Secondary School in the Gorkha district, we require AUD$39,300 for the construction. Click the DONATE button above to help. World Expeditions Foundation does not levy any administration fee. Donations are tax deductible for Australian citizens.
