Queensland Writers Centre Bake-off!
Queensland Writers Centre Bake-off!
Story
It's a Bake-Off!!
From November 15-30, QWC invades the kitchen for the first QWC bake-off in support of International Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month.
QWC staff will elect a recipe and have until 30 November to get baking. Donate today and sponsor your favourite recipe!
- Whichever recipe (or staff member) raises the most money wins a hat of awesome
- All proceeds go towards supporting the life-saving research into Pancreatic Cancer at the Garvan Institute
- Head to QWC Facebook page to view the entries
We'll be raising much-needed funds to support the ongoing work of the Garvan Institute and the Australian Pancreatic Cancer Genome Initiative.
Pancreatic cancer affects over two thousand people every year and is considered the most deadly form of cancer, with only six per cent of patients survivng five years after diagnosis - a rate that has not changed in the past 40 years. It is through the good work of organisations such as the Garvan Institute of Medical Research that Australia is at the forefront of pancreatic cancer research and treatment.
If you would like to support this worthy cause, you can donate now by clicking on the green Donate button to the right.
Purple ribbons are on sale as part of the inaugral International Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month. For more information, or to buy a ribbon, visit the Australian Pancreatic Cancer Genome Initiative
