Story
October 23rd, 2010 is the date. The event, NSW State Titles!
I don't want to swim only to break records and win gold medals. In what could be my final year as a competitive swimmer I want to help make a real difference in the community! To do this I am aiming to raise $1000 for Wesley Mission, a charity that I have worked for in the past and have a lot of passion for.
If I am able to generate this support for Wesley, I know it will fire me up enough to achieve great results in the pool.
I will be competing in the 50, 100, 200 and 400m freestyle and the 50m breaststroke. My goal...5 gold medals!
Why am I doing this? I am doing this because I want to makea difference to people in need. So please, give whatever you can afford! Your support will make a real difference in our community!
In case you don't already know me well, I'll include some background information. I was track athelete for 9 years during this time I won 48 Medals including 24 gold. An ankle injury forced me to retire from running in 1999.
I couldn't stand not being active so I took up swimming the very next year. In the past 10 years I have won 43 medals including a silver at last years World Masters Games.
After swimming I plan to move into coaching so I can help disabled children realise their potential through sport.
This October I am excited about being able to not only win races but also raise some money to help people less fortunate than myself.

Wesley Mission (NSW)
Wesley Mission is a church and charity in NSW that can trace its roots back through the Methodist Church to 1812. We focus on helping the disadvantaged and vulnerable through more than 130 programs addressing mental health, suicide prevention, disadvantaged children and families, people with disabilities, addictions, financial stress, aged care, homelessness and job skills training. Wesley Mission provides the love, compassion and hope these people need for the future.
