Story
HELPING THE FARMERS!
For those of you who are aware, we are taking the whole of 2020 off and travel across Australia. An Adult Gap Year if you like … but with a twist …
… rather than simply go from one pristine beach to another & upload our glamorous pics on social media & make you all jealous, we thought it would be tremendous if we could see the real Australia but at the same time make the most of our time & put back into the community by helping those who need it the most right now ... the Australian farming community!
Yes that's right we are going to help the Australian farmers by volunteering our time via one of Rural Aid's initiatives Farm Army www.farmarmy.com.au … you can see for yourself what some of the activities that we will be doing here https://www.farmarmy.com.au/available-jobs but they will range from feeding, general duties, farm sitting, fruit picking, right through to general maintenance and painting.
Rural Aid have been behind a number of initiatives such as Buy a Bale, Farm Rescue and the Hay Mate concert recently in the Mornington Peninsula. More info about Rural Aid & their programs can be found here https://www.ruralaid.org.au/
We are taking our 4yo daughter Zoe and 7yo son Hamish with us to teach them some amazing life lessons ... along with our two puppies Bella & Zippah.
I'd appreciate any contribution, big or small. (HINT: I have a big caravan which can put alot of sponsorship logos on there!)

$170 - 100 Litres of Diesel for cartage
$450 - 11,500 Litres of Water
$500 - $500 Country Gift Card
$5700 - Truck Load of Hay (PLUS free company logo on our caravan)
$9500 - Semi -Truck of Hay with Transport (PLUS free company logo on our caravan)
Any donation over $250 & you can choose something that you want to see me do eg Leprechaun outfit whilst I milk a cow!

Rural Aid Ltd
Rural Aid supports farmers and rural communities in times of natural disaster such as flood, fire and drought. In addition, Rural Aid focusses on supporting the sustainability of regional and farming communities. Our disaster relief program includes the nationally recognised Buy a Bale campaign and delivers hay, water, and financial assistance for farmers across Australia. Our Counselling program employs nationally registered counsellors, who live within their communities, to offer emotional and practical support to farmers and their families. We also provide volunteer support to rural towns, through our Community Support program. Volunteers and tradespeople visit remote and rural areas to help fix infrastructure that farmers do not have the skill, time or money to do themselves.
