Story

Growing up, my grandmothers were my rock - sacrificing anything to fulfill my every request, from dressing and caring for me as a baby, cooking for me as a teenager and guiding me through every hurdle life presented.

Fast forward 15 years and enter dementia. From being the carers to being the cared for. Seeing the confusion, fear and utter frustration in the eyes of the two women that held the answer to every one of life's problems is one of the hardest things I've experienced.

This is my was of making a difference toward a disease which in 2016 was the main killer of females in Australia and in 2019 affects 447,115 Australians.

In collaboration with Cork and Canvas, I am holding an event at their Darlinghurst Studio (106 Oxford St, Darlinghurst ) on Sunday 15th of September, 2019 from 7 - 9:30pm to raise funds for a disease that affects so many.

(contact details below for tickets).

If you can't make it, any contribution will be sincerely appreciated, with no figure being too big or too small.

I thank you so much for your support.

Adrian

Dementia Australia

Dementia Australia is a unified, national peak body for people, of all ages, living with all forms of dementia, and their families and carers. We provide advocacy, support services, education and information, as well as fundraise and facilitate research into dementia.

We aim to give people living with Dementia the respect they deserve and the support they need. We advocate to government and industry on behalf of people living with dementia, their carers and families and work hard to raise community awareness and understanding of dementia. Please visit www.dementia.org.au to access a wide range of resources and how to contact our National Dementia Helpline.

Community support through donations and sponsorship, as well as bequests, is vital to the continuation and growth of our work.
