Story
Finley looks like any other 5 year old aspiring Vet but he has a secret, he is actually a Kidney Warrior!
Born with Kidney disease, Finley has always been a little extra special. In 2020, Finley fought for his life after going into total renal failure not long before his 3rd birthday.
After weeks of life saving dialysis in Sydney's Randwick Children's Hospital, we are happy to report his kidney function has improved and he is taking the world by storm!
Did you know that you can lose up to 90% of kidney function before having any symptoms. Once your kidneys reach failure, there is no cure. Dialysis or kidney transplant are the only options to stay alive. We are hoping that by doing this walk we can raise awareness for Kidney Health and encourage everyone to book into their GP to check in on their kidney function.
We are fundraising in preparation for our own walk around Wagga's Lake Albert on September 17, 2022.

Kidney Health Australia
Kidney Health Australia was established in 1968 as the Australian Kidney Foundation. It is now a cohesive national body—a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to improve health outcomes and quality of life for people living with kidney disease and their carers. It operates primarily due to the generosity of the public, largely in the form of donations, bequests and community fundraising.
