Carmel College
Carmel College
Story
Hi everyone!
The 2021 female grade 12's of Carmel College have chosen to cut off their hair, on the 12th of March, that they have grown out over the past year, in order to donate it to sustainable salons. The hair will then be converted into wigs for people who are suffering from medically induced hair loss.
The 2021 seniors have also chosen to raise money with their actions, for the Mater Chicks in Pink Breast Cancer foundations, and would be very grateful for any donation towards that very worthy cause!
To help contribute to this cause, some brave male students have decided to wax their legs on the same day, in an effort to raise further funds.
On behalf of the students at Carmel College, thank you for helping us make a difference!
Mater Chicks in Pink (The Trustee for Mater Hospitals Trust)
Breast cancer is the most common cancer affecting women, with one in eight women diagnosed before the age of 85.* Each woman deals with it differently. Nobody ever thought it would happen to them. But when it does, Mater Chicks in Pink is there to help.
Since 2004, Mater Chicks in Pink have been working to make a difference to the lives of women affected by breast cancer as a fundraising program of Mater Foundation Queensland.
By supporting Mater Chicks in Pink you can help these women focus on the moments that matter most, and alleviate some of the huge emotional and financial burden that comes with a breast cancer diagnosis.
Your generous support will help fund tangible support items—such as counselling and mastectomy bras—to make an immediate impact in the lives of women with breast cancer today; as well as promising research which will benefit the women who walk through Mater’s doors for breast cancer treatment tomorrow and in the future
