Child Action Lanka
Child Action Lanka
Story
Children under the care of Child Action Lanka in Kandy and Batticoala
Child Action Lanka (CAL) is a Global Development Group (GDG) approved aid and development project (J696) in project partnership with C3 Church Sydney.
Child Action Lanka (CAL) works to assist and transform the lives of disadvantaged children in Sri Lanka. Many of the children live and work on the streets as beggars; as such, they are often socially excluded and deprived of opportunities and respect. Hunger, neglect, exploitation and abuse are just a few of the many challenges faced by these children every day.
Child Action Lanka (CAL) looks after 1150 street children in 5 major locations in Sri Lanka (a country that has recently come out of 26 years of war) providing these children with medical treatment, food, accommodation and an education.
It is amazing watching the transformation in their lives. One example is a boy who was a beggar on the streets of Kandy many years ago, who last week topped his class and won 2 awards. Without Child Action Lanka he would have remained on the streets for the rest of his life. For more great stories read the CAL newsletters.
Our goal is to raise $50,000 to fund a vehicle for Child Action Lanka (CAL), to transport children, carry food and educational equipment. The vehicle will also enable effective management, oversight and donor supervision to their 5 geographical locations around Sri Lanka

Thank you for your support and for helping to make a difference in the lives of these children!
