Story
Hello family and friends
In August 2017 I'm heading to Upper Mustang, up near the Tibetan border in Nepal. I'm reaching out to you to assist in raising funds to offer this area of the world, in particular for a small monastic school in the village of Chosar, a two hour horse ride from Lo Manthang. Our group's aim is to raise at least $2,500 to support the students at this school as well as a few other communities along the way. Including a Buddhist Nunnery in the old capital of Tsarang.
One hundred percent of funds raised through the World Expeditions Foundation go to these remote communities, to improve the education and welfare of the recipients. Our trek group will deliver the funds we raise during our journey and will be able to see the need for ourselves.
The Chosar Monastic School provides free education, accommodation, food and health services to its approximately 22 students. Most children are from deprived families living in extremely harsh conditions, lacking in basics like medicine, food, water, power and education.
The smallest amount for us can make a significant difference for them.

World Expeditions Foundation (WEF) is an Australian based not-for-profit entity whose main aim is to raise donations for education based projects in underprivileged communities across the globe.
It’s philosophy reflects a focus on education as paramount in improving the standard of living in poor and indigenous communities, believing it empowers young people with a valuable asset for the future and in turn helps to assist developing countries to reduce poverty and achieve sustainable development.
All funds raised directly through World Expeditions Foundation GoFundraise account from 20 April 2021 will be directed towards our Grants 4 Ground Staff campaign to assist our colleagues in Peru & Nepal who have been left without an income because of the devastating impact that COVID19 has had on the travel and tourism industry.
