Story

Meet Cesar, the youngest (and arguably cutest!) member of our Mision Mexico family.

Since coming to live with us nearly four years ago Cesar and his sister Daniela have filled our days with love, laughter and pride. Cesar is always the first person to greet volunteers and staff at the door with one of his legendary hugs and displays of affection. There is so much compassion inside this little guy. It is now time for us all to come together and give back to Cesar.

Cesar's start in life was not a happy one. He was exposed to cruelty and extreme violence, arriving at our door malnourished and under developed. This has led to a number of health concerns and complications for Cesar’s growth and development in life. This year we have begun working with doctors and specialised to determine what medical treatment Cesar will require as he grows, and what long term healthcare plans can be put in place to give him the best possible opportunities in life. Initial tests and ongoing treatment will be costly, but we are committed to providing Cesar with love, life and hope.

A group of our young adults, staff and volunteers are joining together in December to complete a two day hike of Tacana, Central America’s biggest volcano, to raise the much needed funds for Cesar’s medical care.  At 4,092 mts this will be a huge challenge for our hikers, but they are determined to #ClimbForCesar.

Please help our hikers by sharing our page and donating whatever you can – big all small.

Gracias!

Mexican Children's Development (Mision Mexico) (Global Development Group - J731N)

Misión México (J731N) is a Global Development Group (GDG) approved aid and development project and has come a long way since 2000, when Australian founders Pamela and Alan Skuse made a life-changing decision and built a haven bringing safety and love to hundreds of children and young adults in Tapachula, Mexico.

Today, the organisation has grown into three children and youth homes, a community outreach centre and a non-for-profit hotel and surf school. Together, they aim to break cycles of poverty, abuse and inequality; providing opportunities for every child and youth that they care for to succeed. Through long-term solutions like education, practical and emotional care, and community development, they provide tools and opportunities for children and youth to advance in every aspect of their lives, becoming the best that they can be.

Together they are Misión México Foundation!
