Dear friend,
This is an update to my email of 16th May when I said I would be participating in a 6 day charity walk in the mountains on the Sunshine Coast with the aim of raising funds to support a school in Zambia.
The school started several years ago from scratch and now has 600 students from grade 1 to grade 12. Many are street children who are provided with free education, books, uniforms and in some cases accommodation. The majority of financial support is raised mainly from the annual cycle ride and for the last two years a walk.
The walk starts on the 7th July and will cover 80 kms over 6 days with climbs and descents each day. I'm not sure about my ability in climbing mountains but am usually okay going down. It will be cold and we are hoping it won't rain!!. I'll have to prove I'm not really over the hill!
