Elliot Burton
Elliot Burton
Story
My name is Elliot Burton and I am currently 16 years old and an active student at the Australia Industry Trade College (AITC) based in Cleveland.
In September this year, I aim to be travelling to Siem Reap in Cambodia with a small selected team of students, staff and tradespeople from the AITC on a mission to participate in a community based International Service Project. Working with New Hope Cambodia, and using our talents and skills gained at the college, we will create life changing opportunities for some of the critically poor families living in destitute conditions. I am dedicating my school holidays to work as part of this team to help build a number of essential structures in one of the local villages, these include:
A Trade Training Centre, to teach essential skills to the local people enabling them to further develop their community after our visit ends.
A community food storage building, to provide a safe and clean food storage facility for local families.
A basic dwelling, for one of the impoverished families currently living without proper shelter or protection, and
Maintenance of the local New Hope Sunrise facilities to ensure that charitable support can continue in this area.
This amazing opportunity will be a life changing experience not only for the families within Siem Reap but also for myself and my fellow students.
To enable me to make this life changing difference, we have to raise enough money to pay for the building materials and tools required and I need your help to do this.
The following link provides more general information on the work done by New Hope in Cambodia and how the work we do and the money we fundraise helps the Siem Reap community.

Thank you for taking the time to read my letter.
