Spring into Action and help Feed the Children Australia look after marginalised and disadvantaged young people and their families.
August sees the launch of a new pilot program to provide weekend and school holiday feeding programs for those in need.
Please help us to help them.
* The 2009 MBF Healthwatch Survey reported that approximately 42% of Australian children miss breakfast at least one to two days a week
* Evidence suggests that children who miss out on a healthy breakfast are more likely to suffer from obesity later in life.
* Children from lower socio-economic backgrounds are six times more likely to miss breakfast than students from higher socio-economic backgrounds
Feed the Children Australia
Feed The Children Australia is part of the international Feed the Children group who aim to ease the pain of hungry children and their families in need right across Australia by providing food, medicine and basic essentials. The Australian organization develops programs to meet the need within Australia as well as supporting the work of Feed the Children internationally. During the organization’s 30 year history, Feed The Children has grown into one of the world's largest private organizations dedicated to helping hungry and hurting people. Last year, Feed The Children shipped 58 million kg of food and other essentials to children and families in the United Sates and in 43 foreign countries, supplementing more than 730,000 meals a day worldwide. Since being founded in 1979, Feed The Children has reached out to help children and families in 118 countries around the globe.
