It's a Big (Swim) Lap for MND
Story
Hi there!
It's a Big Lap started in 2023 with my 15,500km drive around Australia (with help from my family and friends). This year in mid-May my son Harry will attempt his own Big Lap to raise further funds. Harry’s lap is a rough water swim - 10km from Bondi Beach along the coast before coming back into the Harbour beach, Watsons Bay.
All funds raised go directly to Macquarie University research and trials to find a cure for MND.
I was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) in 2021 - this terminal condition kills the brain's neurons that control all muscles. With an average life expectancy of 24 months - I am grateful to be alive and would love your help to fight this disease.
With 2 people dying every day from MND (also called ALS) and 2 new people being diagnosed every day in Australia, there is a desperate need to help the doctors and researchers searching for answers. Funds raised here are tax deductible over $2 and will go directly to Macquarie University MND clinic lead by Professor Rowe.

Your donation will go towards MND Research at Macquarie University. Macquarie University houses Australia’s largest MND research facility, as well as the MND Clinic which treats 10% of MND patients in Australia. All researchers work together in the one facility, on the one topic, with one aim: To stop MND.
