Hallo alle zusammen! (English version further down ;))

Ich habe beschlossen eine Spendenaktion fuer eine Sache, die mir am Herzen liegt, zu starten. Ich war in Kambodscha und habe wunderschoene genauso wie erschreckende Dinge gesehen und ich moechte was bewegen!

Ich moechte die Gelegenheit nutzen und lade euch ein mich und damit Hands-across-the-World zu unterstuetzen. Ich bin sehr beeindruckt ueber die Auswirkungen, die unser Programm heute schon hat. Das war allerdings nur mit Spenden moeglich. Wir bilden ortsansaessige Lehrer aus, die freiwillig oder bezahlt ausserschulisch Englischunterricht geben. Mit unserem Kursprogramm lehren wir in Englisch interaktive Unterrichtsmethoden und -gestaltung, die besonders effektiv sind und positiven Einfluss auf die Lernkapazitaet der Schueler haben (The Journal of Effective Teaching: Learning by Doing: An Empirical Study of Active Teaching Techniques).

Ich habe in den Klassen gesessen und unsere Lehrer beobachtet und gesehen, wie gut ihre Schueler die neuen Lehrnmethoden annehmen und ich bin begeistert und ein wenig stolz. Diese Kinder werden mehr lernen, werden ausgebildet zu hinterfragen, wollen oefter zur Schule kommen, und sind damit von der Strasse und haben tatsaechliche Perspektiven auf eine bessere Zukunft. Kinder ohne Ausbildung enden hier nach wie vor in der Sexindustry oder in Armut oder beides.

Ich hoffe, ihr seid genauso begeistert wie ich! Mein Herz und das von vielen anderen Menschen involviert in dieses Projekt wuerden sich sehr ueber eure Unterstuetzung freuen. Bildung ist das A und O und wird in vielen Laendern fuer selbstverstaendlich gehalten. Dieses Land ist definitiv darauf angewiesen, denn es braucht neue Fuehrungskraefte. Hello Everbody!

I have decided to start a donation challenge for a cause close to my heart. I've been to Cambodia and have seen really wonderful but also horrifying things and I want to make a difference!

I would like to use this opportunity and love to invite you to support me and Hands-across-the-World. I'm absolutely amazed about the impact that our program already has on the community. This was only possible due to all the donations we received so far. We train local teachers, who are teaching English voluntarily or some also actually receive money for it now. Our course provides those teachers with interactive teaching methods and activities, which have proven to increase learning on all levels (The Journal of Effective Teaching: Learning by Doing: An Empirical Study of Active Teaching Techniques).

I have sat in classes and observed our teacher trainees and saw how well they applied their learning and how well their students perceived the new learning methods and I'm excited and a little proud. Those kids will now learn more in less time, start thinking critically, want to come to school more often and will be off the streets and will have actual prospects of a better future. Children without education mostly end up in the sex industry or in poverty or both.

Education is the alpha and the omega and in many countries it is taken for granted. This country certainly is in deep need for education, because it requires new leadership.
