Kokoda College

Story

Hi all,

I hope everyone is well. I am going to assist the Kokoda Track Foundation in the construction of the Kokoda College for four weeks as a volunteer in October 2013. My role will be to help run the job and get the buildings out of the ground. I will be working with local people and a couple of teams of Australian volunteers. As you may be aware, accomplishing things in PNG is always a challenge, and the challenge for all volunteers is to not only do the work, but to also raise the funds for all of their airfares and living costs while at Kokoda. The volunteer groups are coming in two week blocks, I will be there for four weeks to help in transition and ensure the job goes to schedule, as the wet season in PNG waits for no one. The Kokoda Track Foundation and I would greatly appreciate any financial assistance that you can give to help this become a reality. The Foundation has been working for two years to get this off the ground.  I need to raise $3000 for myself to make it happen.  To see the conditions of volunteering please follow the attached link, http://kokodacollege.com/volunteer/.

Josh also wants to volunteer two weeks of his time, which would be of great assistance to me in getting the job started.  We need to raise an additional $3000 to make this possible.  We have the skills and capacity to make this a reality, if we can reach the target amount of $6000.  So please help us if you can and any level of assistance is more than welcome.

Cheers,
Marty
