Story
This fundraiser has now expired - sincere thanks to all those who supported this project. CLAN is proud and grateful to report that successful Club meetings for CAH and Diabetes were conducted in Hue in 2013, and we continue to support these fledgling communities.
PLEASE SUPPORT THIS EXCITING PROJECT TO HELP CHILDREN LIVING WITH CAH IN VIETNAM
Since 2004 CLAN has been supporting CAH (Congential Adrenal Hyperplasia) Clubs in Vietnam, working with partners at the three largest children's hospitals in north and south Vietnam. However, health professionals and families in the middle of the country have repeatedly asked for support to start a CAH Club in Hue so that families don't have to travel so far for education and support... Vietnam is a VERY long country!!
WITH YOUR HELP, the time has come to help children in central Vietnam who are living with CAH enjoy the highest quality of life possible.
In mid-July 2013 CLAN will be working with partners from Hue Central Hospital and The Children's Hospital at Westmead to start a new CAH Club for children attending Hue Central Hospital for care. We will be working with health professionals and families and as many interested and caring partners as possible to focus on 5 key pillars:
1. Affordable access to medicine and equipment
2. Education, research and advocacy
3. Optimal medical management
4. Encouragement of the CAH Community in Vietnam and
5. Helping CAH families overcome poverty and achieve financial independence
We are hoping to raise AUD $2,000 before July to help us achieve the very best outcomes possible for children living with CAH in Central Vietnam.

CLAN (Caring & Living As Neighbours)
CLAN (Caring & Living As Neighbours) is a not-for-profit, Non Government Organisation, established in Australia in 2004. Our vision is to maximise quality of life for children living with chronic health conditions in resource-poor countries of the world. These children suffer significant, preventable and inequitable morbidity, mortality and disability, and CLAN believes this situation is at odds with the United Nations’ Convention on the Rights of the Child. CLAN is currently working to help children who are living with Diabetes, Autism, Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia (CAH), Nephrotic Syndrome (NS), Duchenne Muscular Dystropy (DMD) and Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI) amongst others, and we collaborate with partners in Vietnam, Indonesia, Pakistan and the Philippines.
