Spread the word - we’re SPELLebrating for a good cause!!
As part of the Justice and Community Safety Directorate’s commitment to reconciliation the ACT Parliamentary Counsel’s Office, with the support of the ACT Public Trustee and Guardian has organised a Scrabble Tournament supporting the Indigenous Literacy Foundation, an organisation that works to address literacy and improve the lives and opportunities of young Indigenous children growing up in the remotest parts of Australia.
Donations made through this platform are secure and will be remitted directly to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation.

Indigenous Literacy Foundation
Being able to read opens so many doors. But in very remote Indigenous communities, books are all too scarce and literacy levels are much lower than anywhere else in Australia. Our purpose is to make a difference to the lives of Indigenous families by not only gifting thousands of new culturally appropriate books - with a focus on early literacy and first language - but also by running programs to inspire the communities to tell and publish their own stories.
