Story
Heinous Hair because We care.
If you have been with us for a while then you will know Jack has enjoyed becoming a long haired, bushy beard, Humpty Doo type.
For over a year Jack has not had a hair cut and only a few beard trims. However his attachment to the luscious locks has gone on for too long!
So when we are at our biggest race of the year, Jack will have a style decided on by total amount fundraised.
Why Flicker of Hope?
I spoke to a good friend as I wanted to help him and his family out as their daughter Libby has NF2. Incurable and quite rare. The amount of hospital admissions, surgeries and time spent in Drs offices instead of getting to play and go to school is not something a child and family should have to go through. What is my goal?
We are aiming to raise $2500. We have created a few incentives along the way to get donations flowing! We will be fundraising from now until Friday 3 May, with the shave date being Saturday 4 May.
How to donate?
Via our GoFundraise, right here on this page! My mate does not want the money directly and instead pointed me to Flicker of Hope, I then spoke to Ann who is the Volunteer Founder. 100% of funds go to medical studies researching NF as Flicker of Hope have no overheads.
What about the hair?
I will be cutting off my hair and donating it to Cancer Council NT.
What are the incentives?
If the final amount is:
$1000 I will go clean shaven
$1500 I will shave my beard into the handlebar style
$2000 I will shave my beard into an Abraham Lincoln inspired chin curtain
$2500 I will go shave my beard into friendly mutton chops.

The kicker is I will wear whatever beard or mo style for Brekky Bash and Finke Desert Race, regardless of how heinous or out of date the style is.

Flicker of Hope Foundation Limited
The Flicker of Hope Foundation was inspired by Zoe – who was diagnosed with NF at four months of age.
Zoe loves to dream big … and she dreams of a bright future for all those affected by NF. In 2018 Zoe and her family established Flicker of Hope to raise much needed funds to support researchers in their quest to find positive treatments and improve the quality of life for those impacted by NF.
Thanks to the generous support of individuals, businesses, community and school groups Flicker of Hope has raised over $2.5 million in five years. 100% of this amount has been donated to fund essential research into NF.
Please join us on this journey – a journey that may be life changing for those impacted by NF.
