Story
As most of you are aware Dan is the king of fundraising for charities in honour of the girls and has done a great job so far.
However, this year it's looking like the king will be away for city-bay on the 16th September and I thought maybe it was my turn.
This will be our first lot of fundraising in honour of all 3 Bucklings (the 80kms walk was the last big one and BB was still in production). We now have our eldest girl who watches over her siblings from above as well as our 2 prems.
Walk with Wings has provided support for all 3 babies in various forms particularly providing hand and feet castings as well as loaning us an angelcare baby monitor when Blaize came home which is not only your traditional baby monitor but also monitors bubs movements and goes off if they stop breathing. (this free service is provided to families with prem babies due to the higher risk of SIDs in premature bubs) this same service was provided to Amber's mum when she went home and it is an invaluable device when it comes to allowing us mums to sleep that little bit easier.
From a personal level, as someone who's goddaughter was a victim of SIDs, this monitor has given me so much peace and is the reason I sleep well at night (for the small amount a certain small human allows before sounding his own alarm!)
Due to this support Walk with Wings provides to not only us but so many other families I will be walking to fundraise for them.
This cause is so precious to our family and with a lack of external funding Walk with Wings relies heavily on donations so please if you can even manage a few dollars it would mean the world if once again you could donate.
Walk With Wings
Walk With Wings was established to raise awareness for Premature Babies and to offer support and understanding to parents during their journey through Neonatal Intensive care Unit and Special Care Nursery.
Kerry and James Norris formed Walk With Wings after their son Harrison tragically died suddenly in January 2013.
It has since become their mission to educate families of the risks associated with Preterm Labour and supporting families through their journey as Parents of a Premature Baby.
With the support services now provided by Walk With Wings, we are able to educate expecting parents on how they can help reduce the risks of having a baby born prematurely, provide practical support to parents who have a baby born before 37 weeks gestation and gift treasured hand and feet impressions to parents who have delivered their baby to early to small and too sick to stay.
Walk With Wings is able to provide all of their services free of charge to families in their time of need through generous donations from people just like you and with the help of our dedicated team of Volunteers.
