Story
Hi my name is Jamieson Poole and I am a student and year 12 leader at the Australian Industry Trade College on the Gold Coast where I am completing my year 12 studies and at the same time embarking on an apprenticeship as a Fire Services Technician in plumbing.
This September holidays I will be volunteering with a team of selected students, college staff and tradesmen to travel to Siem Reap in Cambodia to complete projects in conjunction with the non-government charity, New Hope Cambodia.
This experience is my way of giving back to improve the lives of critically poor families which are less fortunate than what I am.
On this trip we will be helping the local community of Siem Reap by constructing a shade structure and maintenance for a local school as well as building local houses for families in need.
To help cover some of my travel costs as well as secure materials for the project it is critical that I raise monies over the next 12 weeks even though we commence work in September.
I have set an ambitious target of $5,000.00 and I need your help.

Our Mission….. to restore hope, dignity and promise to these once proud and prosperous peoples. Mondul 3 Village, Siem Reap….. one of the poorest slum areas in Cambodia. A broken community of army families, karaoke/sex workers and displaced men women and children.
New Hope Cambodia is a grass roots, hands on and non government organization. “Whilst 'free education for all' is our priority, an important step in breaking the cycle of poverty, we cannot ignore the chronic malnutrition; ill health and appalling living conditions our students and families face every day”.
Today, New Hope, with the assistance of sponsors and volunteers, also provides free medical treatment for up to one hundred residents per day for illnesses such as chronic malnutrition, HIV, hepatitis, typhoid, tuberculosis and dengue fever and supports over 300 families on a food program
- Food supplies and support to 320families
- Baby formula for 100 malnourished babies.
- Education for 1000 students
- Regular classes are held for Mothers on Family Planning, Child care, and Food Hygiene; and delivers awareness of gambling, drug and Child trafficking issues.
