Story
Dear Reader,
Despite never having personally experienced, or had any personal connection to, homelessness, I've always felt deeply saddened that certain individuals are unfortunate enough to experience it.
Sleeping rough, on the streets, must not only be physically exhausting and difficult, but also devastating for a person's mental state.
There is a stigma that all homeless people are criminals, or evil people who got there from their own doing. This couldn't be further from the truth. Often times it is those that society forgot that slip into homelessness. It's our job to remember them.
The charitable work of 300 blankets helps us all remember that these are real people like you and I, that feel the cold like you and I, and who have feelings and emotions like you and I.
A donation of $20 pays for 1 blanket to keep 1 human warm at night.
I kindly ask that you skip the takeaway dinner tomorrow night and donate that money instead.
Any contribution would be hugely appreciated by myself and the homeless person that receives your help.
Donations made through this platform are secure and will be remitted directly through to my charity of choice.

300 Blankets
300 Blankets is a Victorian charity providing the caring warmth of friendship and protective warmth of blankets to people experiencing homelessness.
There are over 105,000 people experiencing homelessness at any one time in Australia. This winter, 22,000 people will be experience homelessness in Victoria with 1,100 people sleeping rough on any particular night.
We work together with wide a range of support groups and charities to make a significant difference in the lives of the people at risk or experiencing homelessness. Our team of 100% volunteers operate a twice weekly outreach program in the Melbourne CBD and a weekly Soul Kitchen community program in the western suburb and northern suburb of Melbourne.
We are constantly exploring new ways to reach the greater Victorian community. Through working with schools and universities, we have developed educational programs to teach and inspire the wider community to contribute and make a difference. We are focused on making impact by loving our neighbours as ourselves. We understand there is no us and them, we are one community. Your donations will help keep our community warm.
