Story
In April 2013, I was involved in an accident which resulted in third degree burns to both arms and my right leg. I was shortly admitted to the RBWH burns unit for treatment and was fully discharged in June 2015. I am forever grateful for the care and support I received from the RBWH.
In life, there are some things we cannot control, change or fix. It is our perspective we must shift in order to move forward. Remaining optimistic is not a one-time effort. However, reflecting on an event like this can be a trigger, an opportunity to do something, like take a positive "step" and make the most of every day.
In saying that, my family and I will be challenging ourselves to a goal of 300,000 steps in the month of July! That's 10,000 steps per day!
I've set up this page for the RBWH Foundation to hold ourselves accountable. This includes fundraising for the BTCCRC (Burns, Trauma & Critical Care Research Centre) and the Burnslife program to further improve the level of treatment and care given to burns patients as well as assist their families on the road to recovery and rehabilitation. All donations $2 and over are tax deductible… remember every cent counts!
Why not join us in the challenge and share this around?
