2023 UPPER MUSTANG REMOTE COMMUNITIES FUNDRAISING APPEAL.
In August 2023 we'll be back out on the trekking trail fundraising for children's education and remote communities in Upper Mustang. COVID brought big challenges for children and their families from the region, however the good news is life's returning to normalcy . The school communities supported in Tsarang and Pokhara are thriving, and remain thankfully in tact, and the Tsoshar Manjushree School is still operating out of Pokhara for the time being, providing free education to children from extremely poor families.
This year we continue to support children's education and their day to day needs such as food, warm clothing and medical needs, while contributing to teacher's salaries and rent. We also donate to the local Amchi School (traditional Tibetan medicine) and to maintaining Loba culture, particularly in the small village of Chosar, where their traditional dress, dances and songs are unique and need to be preserved and documented for future generations. In addition we support remote mobile women's health initiatives focussed on breast and cervical cancer screening clinics and general health check ups for women who would normally avoid visiting a doctor. This is headed up by Dr Kesang Bista and her organisation MESON.
We'd love you to join us vicariously by donating to support children and communities in Upper Mustang.
Together we can help in a dynamic and significant way by making this remote part of the world a better place. This has to be a good thing.
We'd so appreciate any contribution, big or small.
Thanks so much for your support!
Margie Thomas
