Story
2022 UPPER MUSTANG REMOTE COMMUNITIES FUNDRAISING APPEAL
Finally we can get back out on the trail and fundraise for children's education and remote communities in Upper Mustang. COVID has brought big changes for children from the region with some missing out altogether on a few years of schooling. The school communities supported in Tsarang and Pokhara have managed to remain in tact thankfully and the Tsoshar Manjushree School is operating out of Pokhara for the time being with 22 students. With few tourists visiting Upper Mustang and little local trade, families have been severely impacted and resources stretched to the limit.
In 2021 our focus was extended beyond education to provide essential and lifesaving COVID support in the way of money for basics like food. In addition we donated in excess of $12,000 for face masks, oxygen concentrators, oximeters, hospital beds, sheets, pillows, mattresses, rapid antigen tests and PPE. This definitely saved lives in remote villages. This year we're focussing back on funding children's education in the way of books, teachers salaries, food and basic medicines.
I'd love you to join me vicariously by donating to support children and communities in Upper Mustang. In a world so affected by a raging pandemic, we can help in a small but significant way by donating to make this remote part of the world a better place. This has to be a good thing.
We'd so appreciate any contribution, big or small.
Thanks so much for your support! Margie Thomas
