NT Kokoda Fundraiser for NT Police Legacy
NT Kokoda Fundraiser for NT Police Legacy
Story
We are a team of NT Police officers who will be undertaking the Kokoda Track to pay respects to those famous Diggers who fought along the Kokoda Track to save Australia from invasion in 1942. The Kokoda Track is 96km and takes eight days to complete. The track passes through rugged mountain ranges in a seemingly impenetrable jungle rainforest.
We are also raising money to support NT Police Legacy and a NT Police Legatee to undertake the track alongside us.
NT Police Legacy supports the families of NT Police officers who died whilst serving. This fundraiser offers the opportunity for a Legatee to challenge themselves and to walk in the footsteps of those Diggers who bravely stood for a belief and helped stem the seemingly insurmountable Japanese advance. Their supreme and unselfish sacrifice helped shape Australia and give us the freedom we enjoy today.
NT Police Legacy Inc
Northern Territory Police Legacy is a self supporting not for profit Incorporated Association which has been operating since 1991.
The scheme is funded by the donations paid by members of the Northern Territory Police Force and members of the public who kindly donate to help the Northern Territory Police Legacy support our NT Police Legacy Legatees.
NT Police Legacy aims to offer personal and/or financial assistance to surviving spouses and dependants of deceased Members who were serving or retired Northern Territory Police Officers.
The scheme assures families that there is an organisation prepared to assist them with their emotional, financial, education and welfare needs.
