Story
Afrika Tikkun is the chosen charity of Belron® globally. Afrika Tikkun was founded in 1994 with the goal to make a difference in the South African economy by developing and uplifting young people living in underprivileged communities. They believe that every young person deserves the opportunity to be the best that they can be! Thus, they take a holistic approach to the development of young people from early childhood up until adulthood. The Charity’s focus is on nutrition; health, education, holistic personal development, skills development and ultimately work placement. This approach is called their Cradle-to-Career 360 model.
The Spirit of Belron® Challenge is an annual fundraising event, where the global Belron® community comes together to fundraise for Afrika Tikkun. The event is called the ‘Spirit of Belron® Challenge’ because it brings out something we all share – the drive to make a difference. Although participants come from all over the globe, there is a real team feel throughout the events.
Last year, 8 top fundraisers from O’Brien® attended the event in Windsor where €1.2 million was raised on the day and O’Brien® donated a cheque for $40,000! Donations made through this platform are secure and will be remitted directly through to my charity of choice. Thanks so much for your support!

Afrika Tikkun (Global Development Group - J586)
One of only 4 organisations that Nelson Mandela awarded his partronage to - and the only one in Australia - Afrika Tikkun is dedicated to assisting children affected by extreme poverty in South Africa's townships, survive and thrive.
Afrika Tikkun is a non-government organisation (NGO) that was founded in 1994 to offer resources, training and support to children and their families in South Africa’s poorest communities. Support is particularly focused on orphaned and vulnerable children and families affected by HIV/AIDS. Afrika Tikkun's work centres on sustainable community development, including the provision of food and school fees; care, education and training in specially built community centres and outreach facilities - as well as caring for the very sick in their homes.
