Story
If you've ever walked past a homeless person and thought ''I'd like to something, but I don't know how', then Roughtober is for you.
Imagine, that tonight you had no bed to sleep in. So you had to find a doorway, or a park, to spend the night.
You don't have a place to be safe, to be secure, to meet friends. Welcome to Rough Edges!
Rough Edges is a lounge room for street people, a safe people for people on the streets. We open five nights a week and two days a week and provide a meal, a safe place and, most importantly, community for people who would otherwise be without.
On Friday October 20, 2017, people who want to do something for the homeless will be sleeping rough for one night, to raise money for Rough Edges.
Why don't you join us? You can help make the lives of people who are doing it tough just a little bit better.

St John's Community Services Limited (Rough Edges)
St John's Community Services Limited was established to fund and maintain a number of targeted services for the disadvantaged and marginalised in the Darlinghurst and Kings Cross area. Including:
Rough Edges Cafe - a place for the street community to have a coffee, enjoy a free meal and spend time together in a safe and welcoming environment
Banksia Women - a safe, judgement free space for women who have experienced domestic and family violence
St Johns Legal Service - we contract a solicitor to assist those needing help with free legal services and referrals
Community Assistance and Partnership Program (CAPP) - hospitality and practical assistance is provided by social workers for those seeking to exit the cycle of poverty
