Peru MotoTaxi Junket 2013

Story

Hi and thanks for dropping by!

Myself (Steve Mclauchlan) and my partner (Brenda Wilkinson) are taking part in the November 2013 MotoTaxi Junket. This is a crazy adventure that covers around 3,500 Km's from near Cuzco in the South of Peru to Piura in the North of Peru. We will be driving/riding/pushing a ridiculously inadequate 3 wheel contraption called a MotoTaxi.

This beast of a machine will have around 10 Horsepower and a top speed of 1kmh uphill and 70kmh downhill with a good tailwind! We have decided to call our Team: "EnviroBren"

Launch Day from Sacred Valley, Cuzco: 13th October
Finish Line Piura: 26th October

This event is entirely unsupported and no medical/mechanical or any other form of assistance is offered. If we breakdown or get hurt we are on our own to deal with the situation. We will at times be up around 5000 Metres in altitude and sub-zero temperatures while negotiating the Andes mountain range and then descend into the Amazon Jungle in tropical humidity and bandit country! This to us is what adventure is all about and we get to help out a great cause along the way!

This will be an extremely difficult adventure for us both and we are not sure if we will make it! Well, we will make it, but not so sure about the intrepid MotoTaxi :(

As part of this adventure we have decided to raise funds for the very worthy World Wide Fund for Nature Australia (WWF) Any funds raised will go towards assisting these guys to save our Natural habitats and the animals contained within them.
