Story
Stewart's Way was formed in loving memory of Stewart John Wilson. To help children in Nepal gain better access to quality education. So far we have been able to provide a library of 200 books each to 35 schools in a remote region of the Himalaya. We would now like to assist disadvantaged children to attend school with scholarships and basic supplies such as uniforms and stationary.
Description
Stewart Wilson died in tragic circumstances after being assaulted in March 2013 at age 18. He was a bright happy and adventurous young man who was always the life of a party and always there for his friends and family. Stewart visited Nepal in 2012 and trekked for 21 days to base camp. On his trek Stewart met many children walking to and from school, he gave out pencils to them and was astonished to find out that some had to walk up to 3 hours a day to high school each way.
On return from Nepal Stewart and his Father ken decided to help one Nepalese child to attend school by sponsoring the family of their Guide Chhiri. This means that the child Mingma a 9 year old Boy will be able to get an education that will hopefully lead to a better future with employment prospects which will greatly improve his family's situation.
Since Stewart's Tragic death at Easter 2013 his family have decided to honour his memory by contnuing to support Nepalese children with schooling.
All donations will be directed to the Australian Himalayan Foundation to support Nepalese children.

The Australian Himalayan Foundation is a not for profit charitable organization dedicated to helping the people of the Himalaya achieve their goals - through supporting and overseeing sustainable health, education and environmental projects in Nepal, India and Bhutan.
