Story
Hi Everyone!
We are making a difference and shaving our heads for a cause that's close to our hearts. Our long brunette locks are getting the chop!! As Upper Gastrointestinal (UGI) Nurses, we see the impact that cancer has on our patients and their families’ every day. Upper Gastrointestinal Cancers are cancer of the oesophagus, stomach, pancreas, liver and/or biliary system. These cancers often have non-specific symptoms and are often diagnosed when advanced.
We’d appreciate any contribution, big or small. We hope that our fundraising efforts will make a difference and raise awareness for cancers that are not often in the spotlight. Without an increase in awareness and much needed funds we cannot improve the quality of life and survival rate for patients with UGI cancer.
Donations made through this platform are secure and will be remitted directly through to The Pancare Foundation.
We have chosen The Pancare Foundation as it supports world-leading research for all types of Upper Gastrointestinal Cancers and delivers programs designed to address individual and changing patient needs, from the point of diagnosis through to recovery and bereavement.
We are holding a fundraising event on the evening of Wednesday 30th November 2016, which will include dinner, trivia, a raffle and the HEAD SHAVING!! Please contact us for further details.
