Sweet Dreams - Sleeping Rough to Help the Homeless

Story

Hi there!

We're making a difference and sleeping out for the homeless on October 26. Rough Edges provides support and a welcoming space for people sleeping rough in the Darlinghurst and Kings Cross area. With a whole bunch of others, we'll be setting up our sleeping bags in the grounds of St John's Church Darlinghurst to be uncomfortable for a night and raise money for people who don't have a safe and secure place to call home.

Donations made through this platform are secure and will be remitted directly through to my charity of choice.

    St John's Community Services Limited (Rough Edges)

    St John's Community Services Limited was established to fund and maintain a number of targeted services for the disadvantaged and marginalised in the Darlinghurst and Kings Cross area. Including:

    Rough Edges Cafe - a place for the street community to have a coffee, enjoy a free meal and spend time together in a safe and welcoming environment

    Banksia Women -  a safe, judgement free space for women who have experienced domestic and family violence

    St Johns Legal Service - we contract a solicitor to assist those needing help with free legal services and referrals

    Community Assistance and Partnership Program (CAPP) - hospitality and practical assistance is provided by social workers for those seeking to exit the cycle of poverty
