Hi there!
I'm teaming up with one of my clients to make a difference by running for a cause that's close to our heart. We'd appreciate any contribution, big or small.
In 2007, Lenore lost her eldest son Ryan to a serious asthma attack. He was 19 at the time. The day of the attack he'd played a full game of soccer during the afternoon, gone to a party at a friend's house and called Lenore to come get him early because he wasn't feeling well.
Lenore convinced him to go to emergency and within a couple of hours he had a respiratory arrest and was fitting for his life. He died 3 week later as a result of the hypoxic brain injury he incurred that night. He'd run out of his asthma preventer 3 weeks earlier and not replaced it.
Complacency cost Ryan his life. And many asthmatics get complacent, especially when they has the condition since they were young.
I've also grown up with asthma , having spent time in ICU as a child. I understand first-hand how complacency can set in and I hope this initiative helps remind asthmatics of the importance of being diligent and taking their preventer.
