Team Svendsen 'Ice Bucket Challenge'
Team Svendsen 'Ice Bucket Challenge'
Story
Svendsen family and friends are taking the 'Ice Bucket Challenge' in order to raise money for Motor Neurone Disease NSW.
January will mark 12 months since Peter’s diagnosis and we wish to show our appreciation to MND for the help, support, education, information and equipment provided by them, which has been so integral to helping us cope with this insidious disease.
All the equipment we are using at home, and particularly the power wheel chair, a high cost item, is provided by the MND organisation. It is a huge cost saving to us as well as immense benefit to Peter’s comfort and wellbeing. We wish to show our appreciation and also help to provide for others in the future.
The ‘Ice Bucket Challenge' was started in 2014 by Pete Frate, an MND sufferer in the States, as a way of raising awareness of the disease and to raise money for research and resources for MND globally. Sadly he died just recently aged 34. For those taking the challenge they are doused with a bucket of ice cold water over their head. For me, Alice, this will be a challenge as I rarely get my hair wet when swimming!!
So please give generously to our fund raising effort …. Just DONATE!!
Thank you in anticipation. Let’s ‘get iced’ for Peter !!!
