In Memory of Rowan Finnie
Story
Rowan was passionate about helping others and when the opportunity for him to travel to Tanzania and volunteer at the School of St Judes, he grabbed it with both hands. He then challenged himself to summit Mt Kilamanjaro. He had nothing but praise for the Tanzanian people he met along his way.
The experience changed his life, and with his passing we are overwhelmed by how many lives he has touched. He had an insane sense of humour and an incredible sense of adventure which many of you will have experienced with him.
We ask that you continue his legacy with The School of St Judes by making a donation in his honour.

The School of St Jude is supported by The East African Fund and is based in Arusha, Tanzania, East Africa . The School of St Jude is a charity funded school that provides a free, high-quality primary and secondary education to more than 1,800 of the poorest and brightest students.. Located across three campuses, St Jude’s also provides boarding to over 1,000 students and employs over 300 local Tanzanians.
Through sponsors, donors and supporters from around the globe, St Jude’s is “fighting poverty through education.” By providing the poorest students with a high-quality education equipped with well-resourced facilities like computer and science labs, hot nutritious meals and clean drinking water, St Jude’s is fast becoming a centre of academic excellence that hopes to educate the future leaders of Tanzania. The school also provides professional development training for its academic and non-academic local staff, teaching them the required skills and knowledge to further their own career.
East African Fund is the Australian support arm of The School of St Jude and offers tax deductibility in Australia.
