Story
RAISING FUNDS FOR TSOSHER MANJUSHREE MONASTIC SCHOOL IN UPPER MUSTANG
In normal circumstances, each August I'd be trekking with group to Upper Mustang. As we face the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic, travel this year is out of the queston.
This is an annual appeal, and I don't want to abandon the children we've supported over eight years because of travel bans. Their needs will be more important this year than ever before, because with no tourists visiting this remote part of the Nepal Himalaya, family incomes will be heavily impacted.
My aim is to personally raise $10,000, and usually the trekking group aims to raise at least that much to support a small school in the remote village of Chosar and a small nunnery for young girls in Tsarang.
The good news is at present there are no corona virus cases in Upper Mustang, and being an optomist, trekking dates for August 2021 are up on the World Exoeditions web site.
I'd love you to join me as we travel vicariously by donating to support the children's education again this year. To quote one of my supporters "IN ONE SENSE OUR WORLD IS NOW RESTRICTED, BUT IF WE CAN HELP A SMALL PART OF OUR WORLD BE A HAPPIER PLACE, IT'S A GOOD THING".

Incorporated on 21 September 2007, World Expeditions Foundation Ltd ABN 36 127 619 925 (WEF) operates as a not-for-profit partner of World Expeditions Travel Group Pty Ltd ABN 98 001 424 568. On 3 March 2014, WEF was registered by the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission.
The World Expeditions Foundation operates with a tight philosophy of ensuring that all donations are channelled in full to the projects. The board members all volunteer their time to operate the project, while the financial management is handled internally by the World Expeditions finance team. With this structure, there are no administration fees.
Donations are tax deductible for residents of Australia.
