OIC Cambodia

Story

Hi buddies!

I'm making a difference and running for a cause that's close to my heart. I’d appreciate any contribution, big or small.

To do this, i will be needing your help to donate towards my campaign which will help fuel the fantastic works of OIC.

Communicating with others is at the heart of being human, helping people communicate is at the heart of what OIC does. In cambodia, more than 600,000 people have a communication or swallowing disorder, yet health services for them are nearly nonexistent. OIC working towards a Cambodia where each of these people receives the help to communicate with those around them, and lead full and happy lives.

OIC trains teachers on how to work with children with communication disorders. They provide children with specialized communication tools and allow children with speeds and swallowing disabilities to receive speech therapy treatment. Every child deserves the right to communicate and OIC enables just this!

$10 will provide a child with one week of speech therapy sessions

$25 supports OIC for one day to establish a speech therapy program at a Cambodian university

$50 helps OIC reach a child with speech therapy needs in school and work with the teachers

$100 allows 20 children to communicate with their family through specialized communication tools

>$100 We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop.

For all of you legends who support me in this endeavour i am truly thankful and I welcome you all to read more about the cause on the website oiccambodia.org or Facebook page 'OIC: The Cambodia Project'

Donations made through this platform are secure and will be remitted directly through to my charity of choice.

Thanks so much for your support for making a different to these kids. It's always a ripples effect of giving out kindness. Big hugs and much love to you.

OIC Cambodia (Education) (Global Development Group – J703N)

OIC Cambodia (Education) is a Global Development Group approved aid and development project (J703N)  which aims to address the gap in health services in Cambodia for more than 600,000 people with a communication or swallowing disability.

Communicating with others is at the heart of being human and helping people communicate is at the heart of what we do. We are working towards a Cambodia where each of these people receives the speech therapy services they need to communicate with those around them, and lead full and happy lives.

We have two significant goals to addressing the speech therapy needs in Cambodia:

  • To train teachers in speech therapy-based inclusive education to better include children with communication disabilities into schools. This project will benefit 180 teachers and 5,400 children with communication disabilities across six provinces in Cambodia.
  • To graduate the first generation of Cambodian speech therapists from a Cambodian university.

OIC Cambodia is proud to be a partner for Project J703N OIC Cambodia (Education) with Global Development Group (ABN: 57 102 400 993), an Australian DFAT approved Non-Government Organisation.
