Story
I am an outdoor sports enthusiast with a love of adventure, as well as an Occupational Therapist. I believe mental illness can touch everyone’s lives; be it oneself, a partner, family or friends. Its impact on all of our lives can be significant, and yet for something that is relatively common, it is still shrouded somewhat in secrecy. I believe the Bipolar Expedition, with all our planned activities is a fantastic way to help get this health issue out into the open, acting as a catalyst for discussion, fundraising for research and positive change. Ill be heading to the South Pole in November 2009!

The Bipolar Expedition
THEBIPOLAREXPEDITION is a not-for-profit initiative aimed at building a new awareness about the issues facing people with Bipolar Disorder and to raise funds to give grants for vital research into the causes and more effective diagnosis. THEBIPOLAREXPEDITION holds a number of events focused around Bipolar Disorder and will go to the ‘ends of the earth for sufferers’, literally. Two teams are embarking on a documented trek of the ‘last degree’ of latitude to the North and South Poles.
