Story
On 11th September we are setting off on a 14 km walk/run/wheel/cycle of Mackay's Bluewater Trail to raise funds for Community Projects Africa, namely the Cypress Hill Vocational Training Centre.
The Cypress Hill Vocational Training Centre in Monduli, Tanzania was built by CPA in 2008 and was created to provide vocational training and back up medical care to Tanzanians affected by HIV/Aids and for impoverished Tanzanians. Since July 2010 students at the Centre have been studying Tailoring and English Language and in January 2012 we will also introduce a Horticulture course.
At present the Centre relies entirely on funds raised by CPA although it is hoped that in the future the Centre will be able to become more self-sustainable. To assist with this we have plans for an Agriculture Project which will involve an area of land owned being cultivated and maize and beans grown and then sold generating an income for the Centre. The project requires an initial investment of around $9,500. We are currently working to raise the amount required for initial investment by October 2011; if this can be done then the project can be implemented in January 2012 taking advantage of the rainy season.
As a small charity we raise funds through donations and fundraising events and pride ourselves on not wasting money on unnecessary administration – your money goes directly towards the project that you want to support.

Community Projects Africa
Working with village elders and councils, we support community projects that provide schooling, vocational training, sanitation and safe water supplies. Integral to our mission and projects is the education of such communities on HIV Aids and assistance for families affected, as well as the promotion of environmentally friendly activities and conservation. We raise funds through donations and fund-raising events and pride ourselves on not wasting money on unnecessary administration - your donations go directly towards the project you want to support.
