CSU's Amazing Race - for Riding for the Disabled, Bathurst
CSU's Amazing Race - for Riding for the Disabled, Bathurst
Story
What’s It All About?
Amazing challenges and amazing fun!
CSU is inviting all students and staff to be part of CSU's Amazing Race. This is a fun event held over two Wednesday afternoons. Teams of 4-5 people participate in a variety of fun and interesting challenges. All challenges are designed for a range of mobility and accessibility requirements. Each team competes in both a points challenge during the race, and a fundraising challenge that starts from when they register and continues until the last day of the race starts.
CSU’s Amazing Race is an annual event held on the Bathurst campus, and all donations go directly to our chosen charity. In 2016, we are aiming to raise at least $5000 to help Riding for the Disabled (RDA), Bathurst. RDA aim to construct a new shed for their Pet Therapy program, for clients who are unable to ride.
How can you help?
Option 1: Register to join the fun
Get together a team of 4-5 and register to join the race. Registration is free!
You’ll be given a link to your fundraising page, which you can use to share on social media or send to potential sponsors. Each team is asked to raise $100 prior to the start of the race. Although the more you raise, the closer the event gets to making it’s goal.
Option 2: Sponsor or Donate
Sponsor a team or make a donation to the event. The event is organised by volunteers, so every donation you make goes to the charity. Simply donate to the General Donations page.
Who's Involved
If you have a current Student or Staff ID, you are invited to be part of CSU's Amazing Race.
The planning team is led by the Head of Campus, and includes representatives from across the CSU Community at Bathurst, as well as a representative from Riding for the Disabled.
Major Benefits
Participating in CSU's Amazing Race is about developing team work skills and contributing to the community. The event combines a fundraising challenge and a range of fun challenges in campus over two afternoons.
While participants will receive a certificate of participation, the event is about working together to raise funds for an important community service for the Bathurst community.
Why are we doing it?
Whatever degree a student is studying and in every part of CSU staffing structure, it's important to have strong team skills and order to be able to achieve a goal. This event harnesses the skills of our staff and students working together in a fun event. The team challenge provide some friendly competition and a chance to show who are the most amazing teams at CSU.
