Marching For Megan DE WINNE

Story

If we all take a minute we can reflect on someone close to us, either a friend or a loved one who have battled bowel cancer.

To watch a loved one battle this disease makes you feel helpless, whilst the medical experts go to work you think what can i do to help?

Our Police family at Waurn Ponds was recently shaken when one of own members, Megan DE WINNE from Geelong Highway Patrol, was diagnosed. She has undergone surgery and is currently receiving chemotherapy through the Melbourne Private Hospital.

The three of us have decided to walk 100km around the Geelong area in around 24 hours non stop to raise money to assist researchers to find a cure to this disease.

Walk starting 0900hrs on Thursday 28th of April 2022 from the Geelong Police Station and then heading to Corio Police Station and then in and around the Geelong foreshore, Barwon River and Waurn Ponds walking tracks area with the aim of completing the 100km's arriving back at Geelong Police Station at 0900hrs on Friday the 29th.

If you wish to come and show support and walk with us for a few kms you can attend at the following locations and times:

• 1200pm (28/4) at the Corio Police station for a 5-10 km loop

• 4pm (28/4) at the Balyang Sanctuary Car Park, Barwon River for a 5-10 km loop

• 700am (29/4) at the Geelong Carousel at Eastern Beach for the final push to the finish line (estimated finish 0900am).

This page will be updated throughout the walk with up to date estimated times of arrival at above locations and also other locations we will be walking through if you wish to show your support.

It doesn't matter how much you can donate, every dollar will help.

Fletch, Chuck and Chris.
