Corey – Extended Families Community Walk’
Corey – Extended Families Community Walk’
Story
Hi there!
I'm making a difference and walking / running for a cause that's close to my heart, Extended Families. I know the great work the organisation does to support children with a disability and their families, right across Melbourne; with extensive volunteer matching and other programs it really makes a difference in children's and families lives and builds genuine inclusion. Supporting this fundraising event will help children develop skills and confidence, build self-esteem and fully participate in our community.
We all have different challenges. I won't be breaking any records for speed or distance, but will be supporting children with disabilities to run or walk the course and help them feel included within the Extended Families community.
I’d appreciate any contribution, big or small; or come and join me on Sunday 17 April 2016.
Donations made through this platform are secure and will be remitted directly through to my charity of choice.
Thanks so much for your support!

Extended Families Australia
Extended Families is a not-for-profit organisation operating across Metropolitan Melbourne. We create positive community connections for people with a disability, and provide meaningful support to their families - we believe everyone deserves to be included and connected!
Our work focuses on expanding social networks, empowering individuals, promoting inclusion, and strengthening connections within local communities.
Families supported by Extended Families have access to a wide range of flexible programs, including:
- Individualised matching with volunteers or support workers for capacity building, social, recreational, and respite support.
- Capacity building programs that develop self-determination, self-advocacy, and independence skills.
- Inclusive playgroups for Vietnamese and Chinese children and their families.
- Case management and support coordination to help families navigate the service system and access the right supports.
- Social events and group programs that encourage connection, new experiences, and confidence building.
All our programs are designed to introduce children and their families to new opportunities, help them build skills and friendships - and importantly - have fun.
