Story
I'm participating in a sleepout for St John's Anglican ROUGHTOBER to raise funds for Sydney's homeless.
I think we often walk past someone asking for some change, sleeping in the nooks around the city buildings and hesitate, not knowing how best to help. Feel like St John's Rough Edges are making a difference. They offer a range of services and care for people and families in all kinds of situations. Food drives, health, legal and welfare support are among the services that are provided. Eventually, would like to volunteer my time there too.
Funds are used to support the Rough Edges cafe, the Urban Exposure education programme and the Community Assistance Partnership Programme (CAPP), which helps people move from emergency to sustainability.

St John's Community Services Limited (Rough Edges)
St John's Community Services Limited was established to fund and maintain a number of targeted services for the disadvantaged and marginalised in the Darlinghurst and Kings Cross area. Including:
Rough Edges Cafe -a place for the street community to have a coffee, enjoy a free meal and spend time together in a safe and welcoming environment
Banksia Women - a safe, judgement free space for women who have experienced domestic and family violence
St Johns Legal Service - we contract a solicitor to assist those needing help with free legal services and referrals.
