If you’ve ever walked past a homeless person and thought “I’d like to do something, but I don’t know how” then keep on reading…
According to recent data: “The rate of homelessness in Australia has increased 4.6% over the last 5 years. Single women over 55 are the fastest growing group of people becoming homeless. Often domestic violence is the cause. Unfortunately it is happening every day and sadly increasing.”
On Friday 26th October, I’ll be sleeping rough to raise awareness of the issue. If you want to help, any contribution, big or small will be greatly appreciated.
Funds will be collected for Rough Edges, a drop in centre for people who are marginalised, disadvantaged and experiencing issues of homelessness in the community. Thanks so much for your support!

St John's Community Services Limited (Rough Edges)
St John's Community Services Limited was established to fund and maintain a number of targeted services for the disadvantaged and marginalised in the Darlinghurst and Kings Cross area. Including:
Rough Edges Cafe - a place for the street community to have a coffee, enjoy a free meal and spend time together in a safe and welcoming environment
Banksia Women - a safe, judgement free space for women who have experienced domestic and family violence
St Johns Legal Service - we contract a solicitor to assist those needing help with free legal services and referrals
Community Assistance and Partnership Program (CAPP) - hospitality and practical assistance is provided by social workers for those seeking to exit the cycle of poverty
